THE KNOWING

DIGI HUGS

i missed the sunset but i caught some shots of pieter's coffee cart. i painted the sign for him a couple weeks ago and today we took pictures for the permit. catch him on 6th and mill in portland fairly soon. BG Coffee!

if you can define this site in anyway it is that this isn't the place for squabblin'. save it for a pm, dudes. i have to say, as a mechanic, the only thing lamer than bike nerding is hating on bike nerding. 'nuff said, beef squashed. now show us the goods! post up them pretty photos you know we all really want to see. i looked into tickets to houston. the only thing i can afford is greyhound and i don't think i would survive the 50+ hour trip. i wanna play in that jungle gym though.

Faster step Turnover is the Key to increasing speed at the end of the race
After two months of pretty constant 8-5's 7 days a week, the beast is almost complete. We'll be done saturday. That is finished with the build, packed, and ready to go our seperate ways. Tomorrow is porbably the last day of the build. I've been neglecting my photographic duties in the interest of actually working hard and not seeming like a slacker.

There's nothing in the world like this thing. It's just bizarre and sort of unbelievable. It'll be great to see it finished, and It'll be great to see some kids on it freaking out to the max.

Incidentally, there was this guy walking through the construction site today. He was of the British persuasion, and looked like a mix between a lumber jack, a plumber, and a rugby player (not huge discrepancies between those three archetypes I know, but it is what it is.). Anyway, I was talking to the PR girl for the museum and she was telling me that the guy is the field agent for the Guiness Book Of World records. This means he travels the globe looking at teh biggest/smallest, most copius/least copius, fattest/skinniest, etc. things anyone can find and says yay, or nay to their inclusion in the tome of tomes. Best job evar. Apparently with a little stats research we might get in for something relating to this climber, but TBD. But seriously, I want his job so badly. And remember, "Guiness" the book and "Guiness" the brew are one and the same, so you know he's probably partied with the fattest twins (on thier sweet dirtbikes!), the chick with the biggest tits (They Crush cans), and ridden the biggest hog (motorcycle, farm animal, or penis you decide) in the world. Awesome, Awesome, Awesome.

Y'all should come on down to texas. It's warm all winter and there's lots of jobs.

My Fellow Alaskans...
Ahem. Since my invitation to join AKMD I have enjoyed very thoroughly this connection that we all share as fellow Alaskans. I love to see what you all are in/up/about to be in/up/ to and what is getting you up, whatever it may be. It has come to my attention that some people don't enjoy particular bike-related posts, which may or may not be largely stemming from me. Frankly, I can appreciate that this may have us appearing as bike nerds, but this is what I am choosing to post under my own moniker, and am in no way forcing anyone to comment on or give a shit about what I'm posting. That said, I'm not posting here for the general audience. I post here because there's a few of you fucks that I care about and that I want to share what's getting me excited or giving me a laugh or pissing me off with, and not to be a dick, but I could give a shit about whether or not what I post makes me look like a bike nerd, that's where I'm at these days, not to mention the fact that I rarely let other people hating on what I'm doing influence whether I do it or not.

And what's more - who is anyone on here to harsh on any of their fellow Alaskans for what they're getting off on lately? We all have unique interests, yet we are all brought together by what we have in common, whatever that may be in all its tangible/intangible forms. I love to see what everyone has to contribute, and I appreciate it when I get a laugh out of it, feel empowered by it, get a boner from it, or fucking hate it. One way or another - I'm being INFLUENCED by it, and I can't thank Luke enough for keeping this shit running.

That said, I'm going to continue to post whatever the fuck I want to, for or not for your entertainment, and you all can go ahead and continue enjoying it, being annoyed by it, not caring about it, whatever, that is, with deference to the o.g. Alaskan who runs this shit. I hope, however that you get a little bit of pleasure from my contributions one way or another, regardless of their content or subject matter.

Posts regarding my artwork, especially my photographimication, for those that are interested, will resume once I can take a break from working 6, sometimes 7 days a week. I am starting to get burned out on this job of mine and am going to cut it down so I have some time to myself once again soon, especially come nicer weather time.

I hope that you all are well, and I am excited to see what you fuckers have in store for the future. SO GET DOWN WITH THE BIKE LOVE FOR NOW.

<3 from the East Side.
xoxo
