What's Cookin' on 3rd Coast
It's cold and rainy outside. It ought to not be 80 and sunny every day for the next couple months. Welcome to winter in Houston. Looks like everyone is dealing with their winters in their own ways. It's that special season when playlists in drug stores and oldies stations come down with mild dementia and begin to loop the same fucking Xmas specific songs that record companies force artists to make in order to seem decently christian and family friendly. Where's my damn Xmas album Boy Gorilla? Sorry. It's almost harder to deal with that pap when it barely gets cold. I'll just have to substitute oil refinery industrial exhaust particles and gravel flung from neath the tires of Dualies for snow this year, sorry kids.

In other news, I've got a job interview this week for a company that packages, moves, and installs fine art for all the museums, galleries, collections, and whoever else has the chedda. It's one of those 'drop that and you might just be fired' gigs because 'that' might be the only remaining chamber pot of the president of ancient Sumeria or whatever. Finally a job where an art degree might actually increase starting pay.

Been drawing up a storm recently. The paper is so much more satisfying than the binary lines on my laptop. These are all rough miniatures. Medium, color schemes, and whatnot to come. It'll all make sense when I want it to. They all have snarky clever titles, but they're all working titles, so I wont bore you with them yet.

Over at the bike shop, some hot new lowriders just rolled out of the Chopper shop. Mike and Clarence are 13 and they built them from damn near scratch. Mike (with the Blue Texan) has built 4 low riders and a stretch Go Kart. I think this is Clarence's first one, but I might be wrong. Who needs Bike U?

That's all I gotta say this round.

DAY DREAMIN SCHEMIN

"why do we need two TVs playing the same thing right next to each other?" "i like to party."

nosebleeds four is more than halfway complete. the contents is printed, cut out (like 10+ hrs of cutting), and assembled. it's only waiting on covers, but i don't have an image yet. anyone have a classic 80's bloody nose in mind?

Back to the norm...

My head hurts, but spirits are high for the time being.

Shawty what yo name is?
ALRIGHT.

So we're approaching my one-month-iversary away from the promised land, that is Vancouver, and a week (christ! a week! OF NOTHINGNESS) at my Dad's place (aka prison) in Charlotte (aka suburban boom town of nothingness) has given me more than ample time to reflect.

Almost done with this TEFL certification course... we'll see if anything blooms from that seed in the fall, ideally I'd get a job with it when La Bicicletta decides its time to off the seasonals. It's mostly bullshit, but we'll see what it yields. Glad it's almost over anyway, but at least it's got my grammar on the up and up.

Been hollerin at a few peeps in my home away from home on the East Coast - BKNY that is, and this guy Harvey on the fixed.gr/nyc boards is apparently a pro Keirin racer in Fukuoka (sp?) Japan, and he's trying to meet up in Busan, South Korea to do some training and track riding (not with me, but we'll hang I imagine) at a place called Speedom I believe. A lotta help comin out of the forum about Korean Keirin, so I'm stoked.

Looking forward to seeing my lady as well, it's been far too long and the internet is a poor surrogate. It's actually been driving me kind of crazy in a way that I have an extreme distaste for. She suggests that is has something to do with my unemployment as well, there may be something to that.

My Bareknuckle is back from Bilenky, I'm gonna build it up tonight when I get back to good ol Rockville. It's got its maiden travels with me to BK early next month and I'll be picking up an S&S machine hardcase designed for couplered bikes from my buddies at Brooklyn Bicycles.

Pics will be flowing, once I'm out of this funky place. Being home for this long makes you realise... it's not really home anymore, just where you grew up. Still, I'm nostalgic for it a bit longer.

LOVE,
ME
